My old G3 keeps chugging along but the monitor is acting like it is dying. I'd like to connect a Dell 19" flat panel to it. I'm going to need a special cable or adapter, though. The beige, with built-in video card, needs a DB-15 (two row) connector. The monitor needs an HDB15 (three row) connector.
I see that there are some adapters with DIP switches and others without. Can someone offer some advice on the simplest way to do this?
Just to close the loop, I bought the Griffin "MacPnP Universal Macintosh Video Adapter" for $23 at Canadian Computer in Oakville. With the DIP switches (whoa, what a time warp...) set for "Plug and Play", my new Dell 19 inch flat panel is now happily showing me 1280 X 1024.
Remarkably, my OS9 Monitors control panel shows "DELL 1905FP" in its title. It's reading that from the monitor?!?
