My wife's Powerbook G3 lombard 2nd battery died on the weekend. It holds charge until 89% and then bottoms out. I have done everything and read every thread on prelonging the charge. I tried the Open firmware option-command-O-F thing, zap the PRAM, run "Battery Reset software", stick it in the fridge, recharge/discharge in small increments, etc, etc.
It costs $230.00 for a new/rebulit one and the waiting list is 2 weeks. That's past my deadline for my holidays. I'm leaving Thursday, Feb, 17th and it would be really calming to play DVD's for a 10 month teething baby. (I'm sure the other passengers on the plane would appreciate it!
Sorry, I know the "laptop dead battery" topic is repetative, but I'm, at my witts end. Does anyone have a Powerbook battery I can borrow or rent? I'll bring you back a shirt from the Bahamas.
