Display issues on a mac mini

FYI:

Reading the Apple forums, it appears I haven't been the only one affected by an apparent ATI driver bug affecting at least DELL 20" LCDs, and my Viewsonic 20.1" LCD display at 1600x1200 resolution in DVI-D mode.

It turns out that the refresh needs to be adjusted to adjust to this monitors appropriately, otherwise, "static" appears to be commonly visible on black areas of a screen, during screensavers, and sometimes in applications.

Until then, I'm just going to stick with the VGA interface on my monitor.

When will Apple stop keeping things a surprise and actually test their products?

When will people realize it's impossible to test every combination of every product and peripheral, and still release a product while the technology is still current?

It causes static? Big deal. Annoying yes, but it's a lot better than no display at all, or messing up your data. (remember the iTunes 2 installer, now that was a nasty surprise that wasn't tested well)
