Big Sur broke Time Machine?
I upgraded yesterday and TM hasn't backed up since. It's stuck on "preparing backup" even after restarts, trashing the "inprogress" file... wondering if there's a fix?

The first backup does take ages to prepare. Might have just needed patience.

You know, it failed the first few times and gave me an error "unable to finish preparing" or something to that effect. But eventually it went. Ah the mysteries of technology.

The first time machine backup definitely takes forever every time there's a new OS.
