At least you have the option of keeping an old Chrome or Firefox. Apple doesn't allow us older versions of Safari.

I know I'm a broken record with mac-torrent-download but I can't get there with any modern browser so the security 'fault' may be in the OS itself.

I can still use my old version of Safari, but I don't bother very much with it as it quit working with so many sites even while it was "supported" that I finally had to switch to a different browser.

As for your Mac-torrent problems, is it possible you have a third party utility or application running that's interfering and "keeping you safe"???

Either that or my modern browsers keeping me safe. Maybe whatever ad-, spam- or popup-blockers are in the mix. Too frustrating to try & troubleshoot. But I miss that site!

Try using Google Chrome, but to access that "Forbidden Site", use the optional "Incognito Window" and then add the inaccessible URL address.

It just may work. I'm not sure if one has to check or change anything in its preferences or not.

These same method works for me to access normally unavailable or other normally inaccessible sites. I never did bother trying to figure out who or what is putting the restriction on certain sites.

Good luck.

Thanks, Patrick. The site itself is not suspect, each torrent page will not resolve. Tried the Chrome trick. No dice so far.

Hmmm....??? Does Transmission.app or any torrent type app work?

I wonder what the point of the site is if no application can access it!!!
Or does it really even exist In the real world.

Thanks, Patrick. I use Transmission all the time.

Yes, the site exists. I used it to keep my software updated for years.

I'm pretty sure it's because the site must use redirects to earn some revenue. Took me 15 clicks on the first torrent before I got to this page below.

Used to click on the long blue d/l bar which got you a torrent in a couple of steps. They're password-protected; p/w is in the info PDF.

Pain in the ASCII, eh!

Yup... That is by far way too much Involvement and a PITA to be bothered with for me.

At least I guess it is fairly safe with that much of a hassle to access.

I had a MacBook Air laying around that I just updated to Catalina. I wiped it and did a fresh install. If youíre talking about Mac-torrent-download dot net, I can get there in Safari on Catalina, but why in the world would you want to? Anything I click on to download there are 3 to 4 new tabs that open up saying flash player was out of date, I need Mac keeper, and all sorts of other BS. I get pop ups when I click the X to close it opens even more tabs. I never was able to figure out how to even download anything. Unless Iím at the wrong dot site, itís nothing but Clickbait.

Thank you, Reboot! There was always some clickbait there and, to be honest, I don't mind a good pirate paying for their hosting. But you got exactly the same problem I had. Can't ever seem to get to the actual torrents! It's a drag because they used to be so reliable and it sure looks like the site has everything! There's gotta be a way! I have a Mac Mini I use as a media server. I think I'll get my techs on it.
