Can data be recovered from a failed SSD?

An article worth reading, from MakeUseOf:

Can data be recovered from a failed SSD?

The article mentions the use of EaseUS to recover data. I tried to use it to recover data from a SATA drive that had a small problem and the result was a terrible hash of 4GB of unusable files. A few hours later the original HD seemed to read just fine and I copied everything using Carbon Copy Cloner. Not disputing the value of the article, just warning people not to expect too much from EaseUS.

Me, too. I've tried recovery out of pocket with several different companies and all I got back was gobbledygood and...an empty wallet. I should follow my own advice: Back up!

I had a problem with a flash drive and EaseUS didn't solve. Will try with that Carbon Copy Cloner.

Don't expect too much from data recovery. Even the software do find the files, most of them are not broken. I tried at 5 five of them and without much luck. Only a small portion of files to be recovered successfully.
