DV camera to iMovie 10 - no sound
Thought I was all good to go. Have a 27" iMac I took from work, clean install of Sierra. Have a Belkin thunderbolt hub that has a FW800 port. I have a FW400 to 800 and the Canon DV camera. iMovie 10 saw the camera and allowed me to import my videos. I did not pay close attention when importing and only realized after importing about 20 tapes that no sound was coming through. Turns out Apple removed drivers for this common Canon DV camera.
So now I am stuck trying to make this work. Does anyone know if it is the version of iMovie that is the issue or the OS? Would finding a copy of iMovie 9 let me bring in my media with sound?
If it is the OS and I cannot find an older version of iMovie, would Adobe Premier still work with this camera? I have an Adobe CC subscription but did not install Premier on this Mac as I was hoping to do it simply and easily in iMovie rather then muck around with something more professional and over the top for what i want to do.
