Setting margins in mac mail

We're trying to help out a convert to Apple.

He is running across a problem I noticed the other day. I believe it is on his Macbook and IMac - when composing an email - the lines have a tendency to extend past the viewing portion of the screen.

So he can be typing and looks up to catch the train of thought - but has to arrow over to see what is actually typed.

We were wondering if there was a way to set the margins so that the cursor 'returns' to the left side of the page before the words go off the right side.

I noticed the same thing on my Macthe other day - so it does not seem to be limited to any particular operating system

Thank you

Send a message via AIM to CubaMark
Try changing the format from Rich Text to Plain Text:

Format--> Make Plain Text (or press Shift-Command-T)

What Mac model and OS X version are they using??

And I gather that they are using the Mail.app???

Are they composing the email in it's own window??

And some web help may help in some of the hits:
'mac Mail new text not wrapping'
https://www.google.com/search?client...UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

Maybe send him these URLs so he could check out some of the hits like this websearch:
mac Mail.app not wrapping text
https://www.google.com/search?client...UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

and if interested for the reason why, have a read here but they are using HTML and a blog type format:
https://tidbits.com/2016/02/02/quick...wrapping-woes/

And maybe an old problem still exists, ie:
https://apple.stackexchange.com/ques...-in-plain-text
