iPhone Stuck on iTunes Connecting Screen

Forgot the passcode of an old iPhone 5S and was using iTunes to remove the code. I was told to boot iPhone in Recovery mode so I can use iTunes to restore the iPhone.

When iTunes fully downloaded iOS firmware and starts to restore iPhone, it failed saying 'unknown error occurred 3014'

Now the iPhone was stuck on iTunes connecting screen forever. How to fix it?

Hmm, sounds to me like you are trying to use iOS on the iPhone to perform a Mac OS function. To restore an iPhone you must use iTunes on a Mac computer with the iPhone plugged in to the USB port of the computer with a charging cord. Then perform the restore attempt from the computer, not the iPhone.

The usual response to "forgot the passcode" is an ironic "where did you 'find' it?'"

Where did you 'find' the phone?

It is quite understandable for the question. It is my device with iCloud lock. So even the passcode was remove in this way, you still need to login Apple ID to verify the device.

The problem is that I can't restore the iPhone via iTunes on my MBP.

I'd suggest giving Apple Support a call and I'm sure they will be able to help get things sorted out and working.

PS: The "scammer guy" was just a bit of a bad situation and a bit of a bad joke here.

Also, I don't know if Apple's recent changes with iTunes has any bearing on your problem. I do know that a lot of users are really P'd off with it!!

There is an article for that particular error code, might be worth a read: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201442

It seems network issue. I will try to do this on another location.

Using iTunes to recover iPhone on Mac computer ? do you have any suggestion , i just know recover iPhone data from iCloud backup ,

Try this:
Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup
https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT204184

To restore an iPhone you must use either an iCloud or iTunes backup. So says Apple.

For others try this:

Personally we use and I prefer iMazing
. Waaaay better and complete with more options than Apples attempts and methods.
Yes it costs a small bit but worth it IMHO.
https://imazing.com

PS: Sometimes on sale or with a Mac software "bundle".

You will have to get the iPhone to boot recovery mode and do an update through iTunes. Do not select restore or it will wipe all data on the phone as well. If you don't mind losing data then choose restore which has a higher chance of working.

Sorry for the interjection into the thread, but that was way more than a bad situation and a bad joke.

Morgan Figueiredo / Morgan Fleming ("The G3 Man" here, "mmfphotodude" elsewhere, and more) faced at least 13 criminal counts in court, including identity theft and theft of property, and impersonation with intent to defraud.

Yes, not good.
He seems to have disappeared from this site, at least as far as posting, but good that you let some new members know in case they somehow end up dealing with him. Those types don't seem to change much with their scamming and schemes.

I updated my iPhone 7 from iOS 10 to iOS 11.3 but now multiple apps have stopped working when opened only displaying a white blank screen during the start up and crashes themselves after few secs. How to fix it?

Update: I had to uninstall all the malfunctioning apps and reinstall the latest version of them from app store and since then they have been running smooth again : )

Maybe they are 32-bit apps but not behaving as they should.
In iOS 11.3, Apple droped support for 32-bit apps with iOS 11.

Maybe do a web search for your problem but be a bit more specific than just a general search phrase such as:
iOS 11.3 but now multiple apps have stopped working
https://www.google.ca/search?client=...ONDM8gedoonoDA

You'll get lots of hits like this:
