You'll need an ethernet PC Card and a *dongle,
Then you'll be able to hook it up to a router.

Another option is to get a wireless connection via the PC card
and a wireless access point.

It might be a good idea to upgrade the laptop to OS 8.6,
It's a free download from Apple.

*(A dongle is basically and cord type extension with an
ethernet port that attaches to the PC card)

A quick search turned up this:
http://www.globalvillage.com/support/helpfiles.html

If I gather correctly...This is a Modem/Ethernet card and you
should be able to select the ethernet port in the TCP/IP panel.

From that point you should be able to hook it up to your DSL
modem or your network via a router.
