Is this one that can have the CPU's upgraded slightly within the same Xeon range?
- I'm really interested in this to replace my Home Mac Mini but I won't have the quid for at least 4wks. This would be gone by then.

If it is a Mac Pro 1.1 then yes it is... I suspect that from the asking price it is a 1.1 as the other versions that offered 2.66GHz models were 4.1 and 5.1 and would be going for significantly more money.

Edit: All Xeon processors are not created equal and compatible with a given motherboard/logic board.... there are many varieties. Make sure the processors that you are interested in are compatible with the Mac Pro 1.1.

you can tell from the pic that it's a Mac Pro from the first 2 gens (FW 400 port). The fact that it's 2.66ghz and has a 7300 would point to it being a first gen..... so yes it could have the processors upgraded (with a compatible fit of course)

Good points to further the evidence that it is a 1.1...

Just as an FYI it couldn't be a 2.1 because there was only one model of 2.1 and it differed only from the 1.1s in that it was an octocore 3.0 GHz model.

But you can turn a 1.1 into a 2.1 if you have the cash to shell out for the processors and then if you do you should just sell your old one and buy a new Mac Pro IMO.

Edit: the photos are gone now... am I the only one seing this?
