I've had the fan problem with an HD install--there's a single wire that can easily get loose which happens to control the fan sensor.

There was no 1.66GHz Solo. If it is an Apple processor in there, it is a 1.5GHz Solo or 1.66GHz Core Duo.

Yeah, it's down at the front beside the speaker. If it's detached (which it need to be to upgrade the HDD) then the fans' go crazy 24/7.

Of course it does, whether it's a 1.5GHz solo or 1.66GHz core duo they'reboth Intel and thus meet the minimum spec for Snow Leopard... That said, could you verify the processor?

My apologizes to all I was wrong it is a core duo!
G-mo is quite correct only the 1.5 was a core solo!
