Selling my black 16 GB WiFi+3G iPad in like new condition. Balance of Apple warranty until August 2011. Includes original box and accessories. For those not familiar with the 3G variant, it is unlocked and usable on any 3G network internationally, including Rogers, Bell and Telus.

My asking price is $475, but I will entertain reasonable offers.

I wonder if you would be willing to share with us what you sold it for.

My offer would have been under $ 300, namely half the going price at the Apple website for a new (refurbished?) unit with a full warranty.

and I am sure you would not have entertained that.

I sold the iPad for $450.

My thoughts on pricing:

The only model I see on the Apple refurbished site is a 64 GB non-3G unit. This unit does not satisfy a user looking for 3G. As I mentioned to one potential buyer that messaged me about 3G being a non-issue, I suggested to look for models that are non-3G. They are plentiful, and are more affordable compared to their 3G equivalents, as was when new.

Future Shop is selling the identical unit to mine for $549, which would then be subject to taxes. In Ontario, that would make total replacement cost to be $620.37, and that's only if you can find a Future Shop store with one in stock, as it is no longer available online, and inventory in-store is limited.

If you fail to locate a first generation iPad, you'd have to find an iPad 2 (which at the time of posting this ad, was pretty difficult; not sure if that has changed). A 16 GB WiFi+3G unit is $649 plus applicable taxes, or $733.37 in Ontario.

My original price of $475 is 23% less than the identical unit replacement cost ($145.37 savings), or 35% off the equivalent iPad 2 ($258.37 savings). A potential buyer would have to measure if the advantages to go for a new one (8 months more warranty, brand new) justify the premium.
