AT&T Sim Card

Okay this is going to sound Odd.... but does Anyone have an AT&T Sim Card (full size) they don't want? I don't care if its used or not. Just need it for an activation.

I have (and have had for years) an original iPhone 2G. I bought it used and the original AT&T Sim was not in the box.. When i bought it it was Jailbroken (so the original owner could use on Rogers) and the entire time i was actively using it i obviously had it Jailbroken to use with a Rogers PAYG card.

I decided to Factory Restore it and just want it as a vintage piece on my desk however its sitting at the stupid SimUnlock screen and without an AT&T card that's as far as she gets. I really don't want to Jailbreak it again just to get past the Unlock screen.

What version is the iPhone running?

If you want to have a vintage phone and want 1.1.4 or earlier you must jailbreak it as the old 1.x activation servers are not active anymore.

You can activate with 3.1.3 normally and I don't know about 2.x.

It was at 3.1.3 before the restore (i think) so i am assuming it should be at that... i think/hope heh

Yeah. If you just factory restored it then you are running 3.1.3 and can activate with a AT&T sim. I'll have to check though. The original iPhones would actually require a plan signed up for through iTunes before activating. They may have changed that by the time 3.1.3 came around. I've got two original iPhones. One is on 3.1.3, so I'll restore and activate and see how it goes. I have an AT&T sim somewhere, I think. It's trimmed to be a smaller size though.

My other one is actually officially unlocked, but since it runs 1.1.3 I have to jailbreak it to activate it since the server doesn't respond for that version. Stupid I say.

I say check eBay for a SIM card.

I am not sure. I think it just needs an AT&T sim to talk back to the mothership.
I am waiting to hear from a buddy of mine about having one sent to his PO box in the US. i have no problem paying like $3-5 for one on ebay, but $15 shipping to Canada (or Free to the US).. come on now.
