The Google Doodle today is a stylized guitar in honor of Les Paul, the legendary musician who would have turned 96 today.
And it's playable. Turn up the sound on your computer, move your mouse over the logo, and enjoy the results. You can even record what you play.
Click on the black button near the bottom right corner of the logo, strum for up to 30 seconds, and click again. Google will reply with a short URL, or Web address. You can copy that and email it to your friends. (I can't seem to get this feature to work)
Actually, I think the keyboard icon, when clicked (it turns red), lets you play individual strings with your keyboard. The whole thing looks and sounds great.

I saw him! He played every Monday at the Iridium in Times Square. Very cool old jazz club in the basement. It was awesome.
Often surprise quests would drop in to join him in a set. You know, people like Bono for instance. Seeing as the though the club was often only a quarter full, something like that would be a real treat.
yes it is. I missed him last time I was down recording, I really wish I had caught the show.
I miss the new yawk now I'm going to have to plan a little adventure down now.
