A followup to Bob Mersereau's The Top 100 Canadian Albums, the list is sure to provoke debate among music lovers.

Guess Who song American Woman is No. 1 on the list, one of four Guess Who singles chosen by a group of music lovers who helped compile the list. There are also two by BTO, including Taking Care of Business at No. 8 and two by Trooper, the power trio produced by Bachman.

So Ehmacians let's have at it, how right or wrong did this book get it?

I'd rank The Guess Who as Canada's best Rock group, so i think they got it right.

Seriously? Is this a joke?

Seriously, NO!

It's from a new book.

Without having seen the top 100, I can't really say. As far as the top 10 are concerned, there is room to dispute Snowbird (can't freaking stand Anne Murray). The balance seem reasonable.

No issues w/ Randy Bachman & American Woman as #1.

I can't provide the top 100 list but from the Moncton Times & Transcript is the Top 20 list. Just gets curiouser and curiouser. What do you think.

Bah! Where's BIM, or the THP Orchestra?

Well from a pure popularity stand point and place in top 10/100 lists over time "American Woman" ranks right up there... these kind of lists are always so highly subjective and ultimately provocative all they do is to serve as form of marketing for the author. That being said, regardless of ranking as far as popularity goes it is a good list. :)

Maybe if you ask Roy Forbes he may be able to tell you.
