My local company here in St.John's was just taken over by AXA, and our rates went down.

I'm with Belair Direct. Not 'cheap' per se, but it's the cheapest I've found to date. Been with them since 2007; one claim with them which was painless to have processed. (Not at fault.)

Try some online quoting at Compare Insurance Quotes, Mortgage Rates & More. Save Money Today! - www.kanetix.ca

I run my numbers periodically to make sure I'm getting a decent rate. So far, so good.

Regardless of recommendations, shop around. The lowest rate for another may not the lowest rate for you.

Ask around and find a recommended insurance broker. Like a mortgage broker and mortgages, it is their job to find you the best/cheapest insurer that fits with your requirements. Saves a lot of research as, when you find a good one, they are in the biz and do all the research for you. They have databases don't ya know that the rest of us don't have easy access to.

I've been with Belair Direct since the 90s and they've been great. Easy to make changes via the web and good rates.

Yeah, it gets tiring to have these insurance quote web sites request an e-mail address so they can present the quote--and keep in touch with you.
