Best 32" HDTV for under $500

I'm in the market for a TV and I don't really mind if it's LED. LCD or plazma. It has to be at least 32" but under $500($499 plus tax counts!) Any suggestions? I'm in Toronto so if anyone has bought a TV at Best Buy, Future Shop, Walmart, etc or some chain that they think is good then please share! I find a purchase like this to be very hard because I really don't want to get a something that looks crappy. I'm willing to skimp on size for a better picture instead of getting a 40" plus that looks awful.

Samsung 460 32" LCD. Really nice TV, and selling for around 500 smackers.

Check out eoutletcanada.com they sell refurbished Samsung sets. They have a few locations in the GTA. I got my 32A460 for under $500 including taxes. It's only 720p but according to the research I did 1080p is only noticeable on sets that are 40" or bigger.

Okay, somebody is going to flame me for this probably, but 32" HDTV under $500? Go to Walmart. I was at Walmart a few weeks ago and saw that they have a 32" LG 1080p TV right under $500, $499 I think. I don't know if you are talking under $500 with tax, or + tax, but anywho, I thought it was a good deal.

The tv model number is 32LF11. When you google it, the number of results is disheartening. But a 1080p 32" for under $500, isn't the easiest thing to find. Its probably one of those deals where LG produces a tv with cheaper parts, cheaper everything, but gives it a maxed out spec and walmart sells them to the masses.

Not to derail the topic, but if you buy goodyear tires from walmart, they are not covered by good years tread life guarantee. Its something you hate to find out in the end, but there is a reason they're cheaper at walmart, they're different tires with the goodyear name.

you forgot to add "...IF you want a shoddily-made, job-killing, trade-deficit-ballooning, potentially dangerous and overall total piece of crap instead of something like a quality product."

There, fixed it for ya.

What a bunch of crap... Walmart carries the same brand name products with the same quality and warranties as BestBuy, FutureShop, 2001, etc...

The same brand name, and models might look identical, but it is not necessarily so.
A model that looks the same as every other model sold everywhere else may not have all the features or count. Read the label/package carefully. Example, a shelving unit may have one less shelf, or an electronic device might be missing a specific feature.

Cd's and DVDs are one product where it is easy to find different versions from different retailers. Some have an exclusive bonus track or feature or packaging. Or tracks are edited for offensive content.

A Samsung LN32B360 is the same if you buy it at Walmart and/or FutureShop/BestBuy/etc... (It's carried by both and has the same specifications)... And yes, I happen to know the manager of an electronics dept at Walmart.

I was specifically referring to the quoted poster's mention of LG, which is Korean for "Poor Quality."

But yes, LG is crap no matter where you buy it -- but buying it from Wally World makes your local economy suffer a lot more than, say, buying it from RCSS.

You and your friend might find this and this a little eye-opening.
