RIP Richard Widmark

He just died at the age of 93. I always liked Richard Widmark's role as Jim Bowie in "The Alamo," his role with James Stewart in John Ford's "Two Rode Together," and as the U.S. prosecutor in "Judgment at Nuremberg". He shall be missed.

I was a huge fan and enjoyed all his movies. The ones you mention Dr. G. are among my favourites along with Broken Lance when he starred with Spencer Tracy and a very young Robert Wagner. Thanks for the enjoyment Richard, RIP.

Widmark perfected the psychopathic killer in one of his early movies, The Kiss of Death. He portrayed unbalance deadly menace without resorting to the exaggerations many of today's actors use.

Perhaps Javier Bardem studied Widmark's performance before doing his own outstanding performance in No Country for Old Men.

Ah cripes! This is sad. I just watched Panic In The Streets for class last week. Terrific actor, I was inspired to check out more of his films. RIP
