New Ehmac SETI Thread

I figured I'd start a new thread for our Ehmac SETI group.

Our Team Site can be found here: ehMaculate Vision

Our Team Stats page can be ffound here:
BOINCstats | [email protected] - Team stats - Detailed statistics for ehMaculate Vision

The SETI Home Page:
[email protected]

Our Old Thread is here:
http://www.ehmac.ca/everything-else-...roup-gone.html

Our group is doing quite good, we've got over 700,000 credit, we rank 2001 in the world, and 35 in Canada.

Still haven't found any aliens, though...

I'm still running BOINC / [email protected] on my WinXP box at work 24/7, attached to the ehMac team. Haven't run BOINC on my G5 in ages.

I'm not sure if BOINC is Leopard compatible. I've only updated my iBook to Leopard and I don't use my iBook for BOINC. I can let you know around Christmas time, I'm planning to update my Mac Pro to Leopard sometime during the Christmas break.

I tried to use BOINC on Tiger a few years ago, but it caused major headaches--a very demanding utility. Is it trouble-free now?

Seems to run fine, but it will tend to be demanding yet play nice with other applications... ie. it's made to use any CPU that is not used by other applications. I have it configured to keep whatever CPU cores on my machine aren't used. You can set certain settings. You can also turn it off for when you want your machine to concetrate on encoding video. I haven't seen it do any bad things on my machines yet, well except for the PowerMac G5 maybe, it might cause the PowerMac G5 fans to ramp up sometimes, but then the PowerMac G5 fans seem to have a few bugs themselves.

RtC, yeah there has been some SETI outages and downtimes. They've had some troubles...

Hooray, we've hit our first 1,000,000 credit.

Our team is ranked 31 in Canada and 1763 in the World. We're not doing too bad, we're still moving up in the rank.

Yep - all three of us that are still running [email protected]!

Still, nice that we passed another milestone.

Would be even nicer if more people would join the team, or if other members would fire up BOINC again.
