Telus high speed at $24.95/month. Just reduced service from ultra at $39.95 and no speed loss that I can tell.

Telesat 2-way satellite "Anikast"
expensive, tolerates rain worse than my cat, customer service is almost non-existant, except when they want you to pay
telesat was a former gov't agency and still show their governmental roots
if you have a problem, they tell you "we're working out the bugs" but of course I still pay full rate

hardware was about $600
$90 / month for 1 mbps down and 256 kbps up
and the really hard part to swallow is that Rogers cable stopped laying cable about 500 meters away... sigh... imagine pining for Rogers Cable
that's just how bad it is...

just imagine Canada Post was your ISP

Well you see, you go down to Radio Shack, and you buy yourself 550 meters of coax cable. Then you get a pair of cable splicers and wait until midnight and then . . .

I work on the dark side because the pay is better than what I could get the Apple world. Sad but true
