Have you ever noticed that if you are walking down the street and someone smiles at you, it makes you feel better? Someone told me this once, and so I started smiling at people as I walked by them on the street, and found out that if you smile at someone, chances are they will smile back. As a result you have not only made someone else feel better, but yourself too. As well, if that person keeps smiling as they pass you, they will probably end up smiling at someone else, passing that smile on to them, and them onto someone else, etc. There is no telling how many people your one smile might make feel better.
So, to perk up everyone's day, and too start the chain reaction of smiles, I thought I would share this smile (courtesy of my daughter):

When someone smiles at me as I am walking in the street, the following happens in my head:
1- Oh my God!, that guy knows me and I don't remember him or his name!.
Close call, we didn't talk.
2- She is going to say in one or two seconds that she is sorry that she took me for someone else.
3- Is it a leftover from the smile intended to the person walking in front of me or is it an early smile intended to the person walking behind me?
4- He just remembered a joke.
I guess I will have to learn to accept the free nature of a smile.
I've been doing this unintentionally for most of my life. My teeth are kind of big and when I'm relaxed or distracted my mouth stays slightly open and my teeth show so it looks like I'm smiling a bit. Ever since I was a kid, I've noticed that when I'm walking or cycling past people, if they look in my direction they often smile.
(Or else they're laughing at me! )

I always thought they were laughing at me! Regardless, I always try to make peoples days better by smiling, nodding, waving or saying Hello. As mentioned in a previous post, I also randomly go around the office and ask people if Anybody told them how much they rock today. Making people smile, laugh or feel good just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Too bad not more people partake.
