Am I the only one sickened by this "person of the day" stuff? I guess I am.

How is Person of the Day decided?
Is there a vote, can we vote people off the island?

This is the first time that I've even bothered looking at said thread.

Now, I'm bitter!

Every thought that it is the "Person of the Day", and that it's only been around for a couple months? How many members are there? How many months would it take to cover all the members? Do the math.

It's just a matter of time people, don't feel jealous or 'bitter' if you are not on the list yet.

Believe it or not, I actually don't want to be on the list. I just find the whole mutual admiration society a bit gagging. I thought that's what the "Shang" was for. Where's planetoth when you need him?

how many members are every day participants though! I always see the same names on posts, I don't see 1000+ people a day posting!
Not that I really care, it's kinda like employee of the month! I agree with wolfshead on this one

Well, you can either join in the mutual admiration society...
...or just ignore it.

I read the thread, but I don't post in it. No real reason for it.

Er, okay, good for you, you don't like the idea of a POD. Too bad you didn't explain why, which might have actually been a useful argument. I think its a little lame (Well, at least they abandoned the "On this cool but lovely morning in September, I nominate..."), and boring to read, but so what? If you don't like it, don't read it. Its a nice thought, and its good to appreciate people. I'm sure if you post in there, your name will eventually come up (well, maybe not, after this thread ). Perhaps you find "the whole mutual admiration society a bit gagging" but you know, sometimes people don't have the exact same opinion as you. I know, its surprising, but it does happen.

Suit yourself, but IMO I think its just friendly and good for the health of this forum to appreciate the members' existence. Whether or not you wish to take part, that is your decision. But do not feel 'bitter' if you are not P.O.D. for a while.
