Regarding Classifieds

Perhaps i'm being very silly right now, ranting about this...

But an MDD is not gonna be sold for 1500, nor 1000, nor 2000, and a QUICKSILVER is definitely not gonna be sold for 2100 dollars. A 1GHz EMAC is NOT gonna be sold for 999 dollars... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

if anyone had that amount of money to spend on a computer, they'd get something new directly from the apple site. For two thousand bucks, one could get a G5 (NOT G4) IMAC, it's beautiful, it's powerful... not some quicksilver combined with a bunch of junk (to me, anyway. But probably not those awesome designers that do professional work with those Lacie... whatever monitors...)

Bad english up there, but i'm ranting probably because i'm sleepy and i'm tired of looking for a reasonably priced sawtooth, quicksilver, MDD, or an used emac. i'm poor, and i want to give apple a shot, but these used macs are so unreasonably priced! and just because you combine it with some used 5 MP camera and other accessories does NOT make a mac worth double the price of what it's supposed to...

;AJDFALDJF;WNE i'm going crazy from checking the classifieds several times everyday over this summer to find a mac!

I apologize in advance if i offended anyone...

People have a personal attachment to their computers, and to them it's a special thing they are selling. Often they are expecting too much, and often they overlook the fast pace of technological advance. I know it's annoying to see a computer that's unreasonably overpriced, but make a bid and move on if it's not accepted.

But other times, people are looking for too good a deal too.

It goes both ways.

try posting a wanted ad. i agree that some have been over-priced.

maybe somebody should put together a helpful buyers guide for newbies and oldies alike. Nobody has to conform to it but it would probably help out a lot.

Make a list of current and not so current Macs with a baseline pricing for selling used on the 'net for each and maybe a list of stock items to beef up the price (RAM, HDD, graphics card, etc.).

And I'll shut up now before someone tells me to do it.
I hate scrolling
