Vacuvox, I liked the part "In 2004, we again stand at the same crossroad Roosevelt and Wallace confronted during the Great Depression and World War II. Fascism is again rising in America, this time calling itself "compassionate conservatism." The RNC's behavior today eerily parallels the day in 1936 when Roosevelt said, 'In vain they seek to hide behind the flag and the Constitution. In their blindness they forget what the flag and the Constitution stand for.'"

Just the thought of a possibility Pres. Cheney scares me more that another Bush presidency.

Macspectrum, at least Cheney does not have the direct responsibility for declaring war. May his time never come. Trust me on this one.

GA, re your quandary "Oh great! Now I don't know who to trust... Macnutt? Dr. G? They're both tellin' me to trust 'em.", you're an intelligent person. YOU make up your own mind. If you want Cheney at the helm of the "ship of state", and feel that he could guide us somewhere safe, then I am wrong. If you feel somewhat safer with Bush, then I am correct, albeit not at all pleased or secure. If you would feel much safer with Kerry as President, then I am correct, as well as relieved, hopeful, optimistic, grateful and ready to drop down on my knees and thank whomever.
