Bono to clean out his filthy mouth"

Irish rocker Bono has promised not to curse if he wins a Golden Globe on Sunday.

At last year's ceremony, the U2 front man used the f-word in his acceptance speech. "F---ing brilliant!" he crowed as he took to the stage.

That unscripted moment prompted some members of the U.S. Congress to call for a crackdown on foul language on television.

"I swear I won't swear," Bono said in an interview with Reuters.com on Thursday."

The article says you can get fined up to $3 million in the US for swearing on TV. Holy F...............

(We're sorry, ehMac has been shut down due to US federal broadcast regulations....)

Unhappy

With USA television all based on entertainment fantasy and fun it seems to me that the television business takes itself a tad to seriously ...com’on how important are the Golden Globes jeeezzz!

So important I forgot to watch ‘em last year and this year as well, but now I will make a point to froget ‘em.

why is some rock star's language so important?
just put the show on a 30 sec. delay and "bleep' what the broadcaster deems offensive

why is this such an issue?

perhaps, it's because they like the air of uncertainty that it helps bolster interest in a stupid litte awards show?

couldn't be about ratings / money could it?

I watched a bit of the Globes. What I saw was a bunch of half drunk actors stumbling around accepted awards and forgetting their speaches. I recall hearing Diane Keaton say "sh*t" as she tried to shake off the wine and remember who to thank. Some parts of the show were funny, like how laid back and comfortable the folks were. While watching I was noticing the scruffy trend that most men had going on. lots of guys with untrimed beards and messy greasy looking hair. IMO, Pacino looked like he just crawled out of a dumpster, and Peter Jackson looked more skid row then ever.....

While some of the others there looked kind of odd with the disheveled look that has been the style lately, I'd say Peter Jackson looked exactly the same as he always does, just wearing a tux instead of a t-shirt, shorts (not shoes or socks) and vest.

best acceptance speech i've heard in a long, long time - Bill Murray
i hate the hackneyed speeches with actors thanking every lawyer they know
you're an actor !!! act for crying out loud
Charlise Theron was obviously drunk, although i still think she's a good actor
people really need to stop thanking the person they are currently sleeping with. video is forever, your current bed buddy is NOT
Diane Keaton really has to stop with the "gloved look' before people start thinking she's Michelle Jackson

i give actors some leeway for their apperance since they sometimes are preparing for a film
if pacino was not preparing for a film he should be ashamed of his hair
Jack was, well, Jack - overrated and tired
Michael Douglas - i am very tired of how proud a 60 something man waxes poetically about his 30 something wife
ok Michael,we get it!!! you traded up for a newer model - let's not act holier than thou about it !!!
and please don't mention how important "family" is - it sounds far too sanctimonious - we know you got millions - i guess money can't buy class

Copolla stole the show, flats and all - what a fashion disaster - Daddy must be very proud that his daughter has grown up and attained success

is anyone else tired of sarah jessica parker and the homage to sex and the city?
the writing is not that good, acting to boot
just a show about some 30 something women getting or not getting laid, what's the big deal?
and the idea of a "Mr. Big" - oh yeah, i don't get the obvious Freudian reference, duh....

Canada's own Keanu Reeves was well dressed and groomed - thanx for not subjecting us to another poor excuse for a beard
doesn't anyone in Hollywood tell anyone how horrible they look?
frumpy dresses, unkempt hair and what looks like pubic hair as an excuse for a beard
where the hell are the stylists?

hey Johnny Depp - please take off your hat - you're inside for crying out loud!!!! and it looks horrible on you.

[/end rant]
