BC's NDP call for an election - Oct 24 is the day

There has been speculation in the media about the possibility and now we know for sure.

The rationale seems a bit flaky to me as the minority government appeared to be functioning well with an NDP and Greens coalition. I've never been an NDP supporter but am impressed with Horgan ... not so much with the head of the Liberals ... what's his name?

It might work out for Horgan, but I recall David Peterson in Ontario trying to cement his hold on power with a needless election. Voters punished him --and themselves -- with an NDP majority.

Always a double edged sword. The real danger is another minority government, which has happened before......generally the election after the election is a house cleaning.

and we are still paying for the NDP missteps and miss-management
sadly B C deserves all the punishment they yield upon themselves.

IMHO ...That statement is more appropriate for the BC Liberals.

There's a reason the earlier NDP years are considered "The Lost Decade."

I can't disagree ... but this NDP version seems to be much better. That said the former Liberals left a long list of messes and the NDP simply had to start with that list to look good.

COVID will muddy the waters considerably on how well the government is handling finances. But people in BC seem genuinely happy with the public health response from the provincial government.
