I'm surprised that our team has only 16 members. Most ehMac members have been able to afford a Mac. Therefore a $25 loan should not be too difficult, especially considering that there is a high chance of the loan being repaid.
What is heartening is that these 16 have been able to loan $7900.
Just got my first few partial paybacks on the loans, which I am plowing back into other persons. Hope this sort of arrangement will count towards ehMacLand's total. We shall see.
Yes, that will count. I originally loaned about $2500 and I'm on my 3rd cycle with some of the money.
Remember, this isn't a donation, its a loan. Kiva has over a 98% repayment rate.

Let's hit $10,000 by year end!
I have donated to the organization as well, but I have a feeling that this was not counted.

Thanks for setting a great example. I'll have to jack up my contributions. Feel free to suggest loans to us, or to me personally by PM. Wading through the hundreds of potential loans takes a lot of time.
Whatever you lend.... you'll get back in about 6-9 months! Doing so, will help someone in a 3rd world country earn money via an honest living. They are not looking for hand-outs or charity, they are just looking for a leg-up to grow an existing business.
For example:
Dominga Santisteban Llontop
From Peru
Quote:
Dominga, 44, is single and lives with her mother and two brothers in the Hornitos settlement, Mórrope district, which is 45 minutes away from the city of Chiclayo. During most of her life she has raised small farm animals in her mother's house and three years ago began to sell them in the city of Chiclayo. She raises turkeys, ducks, guinea pigs, and mutton. She usually travels to the city twice a week to sell them. Dominga tells us that demand for her animals has been growing but that she does not have enough animals to meet it. For this reason she has called upon Edpyme Alternativa for the first time asking for a 1000 new sol loan to buy more animals so that her business will expand and she can meet her customers' demand. Her greatest wish is to see her business grow and to use her profits to be able to give her mother a better quality of life. She is a cheerful, responsible woman who is very dedicated to her family and to her work.
Okay, I just joined and pumped up the loans by another couple hundred. I've been accused by many members of being cold and heartless. I challenge all of the lefties on the site to kick my Libertarian ass by outdoing my loan.

Alright macfury. Finally I see a post where your seemingly libertarian stance will do some good. So I will take up your challenge.
I could only find a $25 loan so far. Do I have to keep checking to lend more? I will match macfury's challenge.
edit: refreshing I found up to 75 so far. So I'll try throughout the day
