Powerbook 1400c/166 Value

Hello folks,

I recently upgraded my Mother-in-law's computer from a Powerbook 1400c/166 to a 2012 13" MBP. She was so happy she gave me the PowerBook. Now, I have absolutely no use for it and would happily part with it but I have no idea what it is worth, if anything.

It is fully functional but I am unsure of the condition of the battery. It has system 8.1 on it and has a Global Village Fax/Modem card and a CD-ROM optical drive.

Could you give me your opinions on what to do with it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mike

You should have upgraded your Mom's computer a long time ago.

Diveman: good one! As for the PB - that was a very nice model, in its day. Full specs at Everymac.com.

As for value... well... eBay has a Powerbook 1400cs (passive screen) for $136 (at the moment, with a week to go). Your Ma-in-Law's is the active-matrix screen, which was a nice upgrade (back then).

Whew!

Well, given the situation... here's an upgrade.

I still have my original PowerBook 1400c (active matrix screen) which must therefore be worth more than $136. Let me know : )

I think I have one too. And I have a printer to go with it.

Thank you everyone for your input. I really don't want anything for it. If some one would like it and is willing to come and get it (East Scarborogu) then it is yours. Please PM if interested.

Thanks

Mike
