Reports of explosions at Foxconn's iPad Production Plant in China

There are reports coming out of China that there has been an explosion that ripped through the Foxconn high-tech plant in southwestern China Friday night, where Apple has the iPad manufactured. Two people are reported to have been killed by the blast, with more injured, some very seriously.

You can click here to see a video of the aftermath.

Reports have indicated that at least ten fire engines and ten ambulances are on the scene and through the video, you can see smoke billowing out from the plant.

While obviously the human tragedy is by far the most important thing, one can't help but consider if this will affect Apple's ability to manufacture iPad's, especially in light that they have already been behind on demand.

The Chinese government has appeared to rule out foul play, saying the explosion didn't have a human factor. Otherwise, the government has said very little about the explosion, which it said occurred in the Foxconn "polishing plant" around 7 PM local time. ( 0 comments )
