Hi, is it possible to remote desktop my dell laptop (win7) from iPad 1.0 (IOS5) through just Wi-Fi and not connected to the internet? Is there an app for that?

I checked it out and you have to be connected to the internet to use it. I just want to remote desktop without connecting to the internet, but still with wi-fi from my ipad straight to my laptop. No internet. I there any way to do that?

Thanks,
Denis.

There's a few VNC clients for iPad that will connect to any standardized VNC server.

I used to use RDP Lite, works fine for XP and Win7 (as long as it's not "Home Edition").
If you like it, there is a full version.

If you have turned on Remote Access on the Win 7 Laptop you should be fine. No need to install any other VNC or remote applications.

Yup just use the RemoteDesktop tool and enable it on your PC. I use it all the time to log into my servers at work
