At work, I have G4 450 and every time I try to burn a CD, it crashes my computer. The bizarre thing is after I reboot the Mac and try burning the CD again - it works. So, the only way I can make it work is Burn the CD - crash - reboot - try again - then it'll work.

Any tips?

are you using the Apple Disc Burner software or are you using some other product such as Toast or Discribe?

If you are using the Apple engineered software, do you have the latest version? If not, I believe that 1.0.1 (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75106) is that latest version for Mac OS 9.X.X

Also, do you have just the internal burning extensions turned on or are all the authoring support files turned on? This includes the ones for USB as well as FireWire.

You can also get the latest authoring support here (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120032).
