: setting up print server

I'm trying to set up my G3 as a print server to my Canon inkjet printer over an ethernet network.

When sending files from my OS 9.x machines, everything works perfectly, but the OS X.2.6 computers do not "see" the printer in the Print Center. Drivers have been installed and the printer works when connected directly to an OSX work station's USB port.

The print server is running OS 9.2.2.

Canon's included documentation and website have not provided any help.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

the shared printers feature do not do up or down between platforms. This being said, Mac OS X will not see Mac OS 9 printers without some form or third party (or Mac OS X Software) with a more advanced feature set built in.
