Hey everyone. I was jsut wondering if soeone could help me figure out what all these different monitor connection types are.

I know that the HDI-45 was the video port that was on certain OldWorld PowerMacs.

DB-15 was a extremly old connection method used by old macs.

VGA is the standard that is still used.

Is that right? And if so, how come Apple didn't make any HDI-45 monitors if their computers had the ports??

If I want to use an AppleVision 1710AV which has a DB-15 port, where can I get an adaptor to hook it up to a VGA port?

Thanks a lot!

Hoo.

The reason that Apple used the DB15 standard is long, convoluted, and irrelevant (now)... The difficult part for you is that there probably aren't too many places that stock the converters anymore.

I did find you one here for about $25:

but you might want to check with a local mac guru to see if he/she has a few kicking around in a drawer somewhere.

Good luck!
