Hi,

I have a classic iPod 120gb little over a year old and I dropped it....

I tried restarting it a few times but it won't leave the Apple logo screen. What do you guys think is wrong? What should I do?

Was it on when you dropped it? The classic iPod has moving parts. Moving parts that could've been damaged when you dropped it. Have you called Apple? They offer a flat-rate repair/replace for out of warranty iPods. Otherwise, you can possibly try a heart transplant.

iFixit has a replacement hard drive (http://www.ifixit.com/iPod-Parts/iPod-Classic-120-GB-Hard-Drive/IF130-022) for the 120GB classic, but at $149.95 USD + shipping, etc., it's probably cost prohibitive. You could also try eBay for parts.

Yeah it was on unfortunately. You think the HD is definitely what's broken?

I'm not an expert, but it's certainly a strong possibility.

Maybe investigate replacing the iPod drive with a compatible 1.8" SSD drive unit???

But it won't be the cheapest route!!!
