I see a couple of other people on the web are going threw the same thing as me with there iMac G5...... turning off with no notice.

I ran the Apple Hardware test yesterday and it said it was all clear. I changed the internal battery earlier today and thought that did it but, tonight it shut off again twice. Then I ran console to see if max temps exceeded and nothing. I know one of the caps is pushing up slightly when I looked but, nothing major. On my iMac which I bought in 2005 there is no reset button.....

I don't know what else to do....

any suggestions?

Thank you for your help in advance.

Bad power supply, practically guaranteed. The logic board capacitor may be bulging, but that won't make the unit turn itself off, so it isn't relevant to your issue at hand.

Well documented, well known issue with these units.
