: iPhone Rip Offs

I was watching a video on Youtube today and I saw an ad for a phone in which the lock screen looked almost EXACTLY like an iPhoneshttp://cloud.lbox.me/images/v/200911/pqbz1257835468296.jpg
What's funny is that when you write a review and try to rate, you can't, it's stuck at 4/5: I9+++ Dual Card Tri Band JAVA 3.2 Inch Touch Screen Cell Phone Black and White (2GB TF Card)(SZ04580898) - US$ 63.99 (http://www.lightinthebox.com/I9----Dual-Card-Tri-Band-JAVA-3-2-Inch-Touch-Screen-Cell-Phone-Black-and-White--2GB-TF-Card--SZ04580898-_p72640.html#have_reviews) This product is made by a knockoff company called lightinthebox: Wholesale - China Wholesale - Buy Wholesale Products from Chinese Wholesaler (http://www.lightinthebox.com/) They make knockoff iPhones, iPods, iPads, Sony phones and Blackberries.

iPhone4 ripoff called hiPhone4: Hiphone4 Dual Card Quad Band WIFI JAVA Touch Screen Phone Black(2GB TF Card)(SZ09890036) - US$ 97.99 (http://www.lightinthebox.com/Hiphone4-Dual-Card-Quad-Band-WIFI-JAVA-Touch-Screen-Phone-Black-2GB-TF-Card--SZ09890036-_p140862.html)

iPad ripoff called aPad: Android 2.1 Tablet PC-aPad-MID-7 TFT Touch Screen-ARM 11-Telechips 8902B-720MHZ-256 DDR2-2G-Wifi-Camera(SMQ5821) - US$ 169.99 (http://www.lightinthebox.com/Android-2-1-Tablet-PC-aPad-MID-7--TFT-Touch-Screen-ARM-11-Telechips-8902B-720MHZ-256-DDR2-2G-Wifi-Camera-SMQ5821-_p153385.html)

I'm sure these are illegal, but why doesn't anybody crack down on them, and how did Google let them advertise on Youtube?!?!?!? :yikes:

I could be a cynic and point out that Google (owners of YouTube) have a VESTED INTEREST in anything that undermines the iPhone, but in this case I'll take my tinfoil beret off and simply point out that YouTube pretty much lets anyone post anything they want as long as it doesn't violate copyright, no nudity and you keep it under 10 minutes. The ripoff phone might violate all kinds of laws, but the video itself does not.

Lots of iphone clones floating around. There's a shop on Yonge St. that sells em, along with copies of most other popular phones. Some have pretty interesting features like dual sims and built in TV, an looking at an unpowered unit, you'd nerver know the difference. However, once you start using these things I guarantee you'll notice a big difference, and they cost more that I paid for either of my used iphones.

As I read this thread, the ad at the top of the page is for the hiphone. :lmao:

There're ads on ehMac?

It's true. I saw one once, when I first visited with my iPad. Once I logged in, the ad went away. :)
