Broken Audio Plug

Doh!

I just damaged my speaker plug on my Sawtooth G4. There was some pressure on the cable that was inserted into it and it seems that something inside the plug broke. No visible damage to the motherboard, thankfully. But now the cable just wobbles when I try to insert it and no sound goes through.

Is there any point in trying to get it fixed, or am I just better off buying a USB-audio interface?

*sigh*

A tricky and possibly expensive fix (Apple would just replace the mobo; that's real money). I would just go USB and be done with it.

If you know a very good person who can solder surface mount electronics, it may be fixable, but the risk of damaging the mobo is real and in my opinion not worth it.
