I don't have a Gmail account, but was asked this question.

Person A and Person B each have Gmail accounts and they use Gmail for instant messaging. Person A likes to save transcripts of the Chat sessions. If Person B deletes his Gmail account, will it also delete Person B's portion of the transcripts of chats saved by Person A and stored on Google's servers?

I don't think so... I'm pretty sure the chat transcripts are essentially saved as specially labeled messages... the only person that would be able to delete them is the person that saved them.

Uh oh, what kind of bad information did he accidentally send across Gmail chat? ;)

It's actually the opposite! Person A thinks Person B's writing is really clever, but Person B is deleting the one account because it's been compromised. Person A wants to keep a record of the written brilliance.
