: Looking for used Macbook parts to fix screen

My 13" Unibody Macbook has multi coloured lines running down the middle of my screen that disappear when it is connected to an external monitor which leads me to believe that the LVDS cable is busted. Apple does not sell just the cable and I am supposed to buy a full $800 screen assembly. Does any one know any companies that buy used macs and sell the parts? Any insight into how I can track down an LVDS cable for an A1278 Macbook would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Fuzz

Do you mean the lines disappear from the internal display when the MB is connected to an external monitor or the issue is not replicated on the external monitor ? Often, vertical lines on a monitor is a symptom of a faulty LCD panel if the lines are always at the same locations and stay there when changing the display resolution. iFixit doesn't sell internal parts for the Unibody display. You'll have to search on ebay to find it.

MacBook Unibody (Model No. A1342) Display Assembly @ $499.95

ebay could be cheaper if you can find a water damaged macbook though!
