Youtube has put an end to the command+option+A move! I can't seem to download flv files from youtube with easy anymore.

What can I do??? My students will be bored to tears if they cannot get their fix of stupid foreign commercials. Please help.

Not sure if it's been affected, but there is an option with "kickyoutube". Essentially you locate a youtube clip you want, place the word "kick" before the word youtube in the URL for that clip, and it will take you to the kickyoutube site which allows you to download the video in the format of your choice (if available). Works about half the time, or at least it used to.

I use MacTubes (http://brpg.hp.infoseek.co.jp/mactubes/index_en.html). Free, various resolutions supported, etc.

Not seeing very many that can be saved this way. However it is allowing me to open videos that were failing with my ancient version of Flash. Much better than having to re-boot into Tiger.

Just tried my wife's macbook pro (3yrs old) and it's still allowing me to use the command+option+a feature. Safari versions are the same.

Confused!!!

I'll try some of those other programs mentioned.

I tried yesterday. Some videos in better quality weren't in the option-command-a list and some were but for some reason only part of the video downloaded properly and others were perfectly fine. But ever one I looked at in normal quality was there and downloaded alright.

For those who need this sort of thing, ClipGrab 3.0.6.5 was released today (VersionTracker (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/75156958))

No endorsement - didn't download, didn't test, but it's free, and appears to have positive feedback.

YMMV!
