: PowerMac G5 DP downgrade :(

Hi All,

Just fairly new to the forum and just wanted to break my silence with a quick mind boggling questions (for me anyway)

My PowerMac G5 DP 2.5 had one of the CPU die on me so it wont even boot-up, I have read that if i can find a G5 1.8 DP CPU from the same series that I can get my Mac to work again so can anyone confirm this?

Here is my MAC specs - Power Macintosh G5 2.5 DP (PCI-X) Specs (Mid-2004, M9457LL/A, A1047, PowerMac7,3) @ EveryMac.com (http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac_g5/stats/powermac_g5_2.5_dp.html)

Thanks again...

I looks like there's one for sale with the same problem in Ontario, or is this yours??

FS/Ft - PowerMac G5 2.5GHz DP for parts (1 Bad CPU) - Toronto Computers For Sale - Kijiji Toronto (http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-computers-FS-Ft-PowerMac-G5-2-5GHz-DP-for-parts-1-Bad-CPU-W0QQAdIdZ196081048)

If the CPU's are replaceable. Hmmm...
