: iPad's Identity Crisis

I read this and came to the conclusion that we're the one's having an identity crisis:

iPad's Identity Crisis and Apple's A4 CPU Showstopper - HotHardware (http://hothardware.com/Articles/Apple%2DiPad%2DHits%2DMisses%2DAnd%2DHow%2DThe%2DA 4%2DCould%2DImpact%2DMobile%2DComputing/)

Mind you, I've read a few really great, heartfelt pieces on why the iPad will do just fine but most of it is just freaky, reactionary, "know it all" ego tripping. We know nothing. Apple doesn't even really know but they make their best guess based on past successes. We think we know how we feel about mobile computing but we really don't- not until we were handed something like the iPod/iPhone. Same will be true for the iPad.

Everyone's logic is bass ackwards about this. Everyone says "It's just an oversized iPod Touch. WHAAAAAAAA!!!!". EXACTLY!!!! It's a bigger, more beautiful, more powerful iPod Touch with a microphone!!!! And how many iPods Touch/iPhones have they sold sold far!?

This thing is going to rule!!!!!

Either way it's all just noise. From here on in I am totally going to try to take my own advice and shut the hell up until I own one. No more posts from me about it until June-ish!

Just wondering ...

The iPod touch is able to go on my wireless network but can not access content on my server (windows).

Is there an app to do this ?

I assume it would be the same with the iPad ?

If I was able to stream movies from the network, it would be much more interesting.

There are lots of apps for the iPod touch that can download files off of servers. AirSharing is one that I can think of offhand. And I can play movies from it too.
