Ramadan is coming to a close with some pretty big Eid celebrations happening in Toronto. 10,000 expected to attend.

Same to you, Macified.

I always find it interesting the similarities between the Muslim and Jewish faiths, which is understandable given their common roots with Abraham.

During Ramaḍān, Muslims ask forgiveness for past sins, pray for guidance and help in refraining from everyday evils, and try to purify themselves through self-restraint and good deeds.

During the "Days of Awe", which begin with Rosh Hashanah and conclude with Yom Kippur (the "Day of Atonement"), Jewish people view this as a time to begin introspection, look back at the mistakes of the past year and plan the changes to make in the new year. Yom Kippur is a day set aside to atone for the sins of the past year by fasting and prayer.

Shalom, my friend.
