: Boot Camp on Mac Pro with Raid

Sep 16th, 2009, 10:03 PM

I recently tired to install windows on my Mac Pro with a 4-way RAID setup (software), and it refused to run because of the RAID. I was wondering at this point what my options would be to run Windows on the system.

1) Is it possible to boot Windows from an external hard drive (I don't think Boot Camp will allow this)

2) If I install another hard drive on one of the free internal SATA ports, will Boot Camp install on a hard drive that's not the OSX Boot Drive

3) Is there a workaround to install Windows on the OSX RAID (this is a longshot, it may not be technically feasible)

I really would prefer not having to give up my RAID, but I have a few things I want to test under windows with the 8 cores.
