Unlocked price $700
Canadian?Rogers locked price $200

Cheapest of recently announced new plans $60/month
My current plan $18/month (no interest in 3G)

(700-200)/(60-18) = 11.9

Payback is in just under 12 months!

Could well be a deal, depending on how you use it.

You can buy an iPhone 3G without a contract at Rogers for $760/$860 -- at least that's what my local Rogers retailer said. Just that you at least have to go on a month to month plan.

The big difference is iPhone selling from Hongkong unlocked! You can use in any country if you travel a lot, find a local prepaid service and use your iPhone.
