Hi all, I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I did do a search and was unable to find the answer. Will Apple be offering applecare for canadian iphone buyers?

thanks in advance,

I would say yes, but can't say for sure until they fix the link...

Batteries - Battery Replacement - Apple Canada (http://www.apple.com/ca/batteries/replacements.html)

Your one-year warranty includes replacement coverage for a defective battery. You can extend your coverage to two years from the date of your iPhone purchase with the AppleCare Protection Plan for iPhone.

When you click the link it says it can't find what you are looking for...

Q: Which products are eligible for the AppleCare Protection Plan?

A: The AppleCare Protection Plan is available for Apple displays, iPod, Apple TV, and Mac computers (iMac, Mac mini, Mac Pro, MacBook, and MacBook Pro). Each product requires a separate AppleCare Protection Plan for coverage.

Apple - Support - AppleCare - FAQs (http://www.apple.com/ca/support/products/faqs.html)

You could always call 1-800-263-3394 and ask them if it includes iPhone as well because on this (http://www.apple.com/ca/support/contact/) page on the right hand side the apple care description reads "Extended support for your Mac, iPod, iPhone, software, or server."

Thanks for the links. I was a little confused because on the bottom of the iphone page on the american site, it lists the info and price of apple care:

Apple Store (U.S.) - iPhone 3G (http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_iphone/family/iphone?mco=MTE2NTQ)

but there is nothing on the canadian.

Apple Store (Canada) - iPhone 3G (http://store.apple.com/ca/browse/home/shop_iphone/family/iphone?mco=MTE2NTQ)

I guess I'll have to give them a call.

Just called AppleCare Canada. The guy could not tell me when it will be available, but mentioned that when the first iPhone came out it took about a month for AppleCare to appear for even the US. He reckons it's just a matter of time - could not find out just how long though. Recommended I just keep an eye on the website for that. Also you can purchase AppleCare (once it's available) even if you have as little as one day left on your original one year warranty. So I guess we will have to wait ...

Any word on this yet? Is AppleCare STILL not available to Canadian iPhone owners?

I was just at Sherway and popped into the Applestore to ask about this. The Genius told me he has been told that there may not be an Applecare option for us Canadians. I said that seemed unlikely since there is in the US but he said they have been asking about it for quite some time and the last update they got was that Apple may not offer it to us.

I hope the Genius is just misinformed.
