Ive been looking over my Apple care warranty but havent come up with a definitive answer for this. Does anyone know if by purchasing and installing a second hard drive on my Mac pro not purchased from Apple or a reseller that this would void my warranty?

Im looking at this from A-power in Burnaby.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 750GB 32MB SATA II #5040

Thanks

Well, you could always call AppleCare and ask first...

do a google search on it. I'm sure they won't cover the drive under warranty if the drive fails, and they probably won't cover other parts if the drive causes them to fail... but I don't think that replacing the drive voids the entire AppleCare warranty unless you manage to muck stuff up in the process...

In a MacPro, hard drives and RAM are user installable. They do not affect the warranty on the rest of the machine.

Also, if you end up having a warranty related problem, just pop back your old HD!
