Totally Weird random question here:

Is there any way to hack a PB/MBP keyboard bought off of eBay or Craigslist into some sort of case to plug-in via USB to another computer? I'm asking 'cause I have a MBP and a MBA and I might get rid of the MBP, but I really love the keyboard... and I'd definitely miss it... but if I could get a used old part and make it external somehow... that'd rock!

Does this make sense to anyone? Or am I just crazy? I tried googling for this, but came up short.

Or am I just crazy?

Yes.

The keyboard itself isn't USB, for starters, so you would have to custom build a USB bridge of some kind, with the correct connections on the ribbon cable, and a case to hold it in...

Better to just buy the new Aluminum Apple keyboard which is more "macBook" like build. Personally, I can't stand the short throw flat keys.

I already have the Aluminum BT Keyboard. And I would be keeping the MacBook Air. So I have the chicklet keyboard on there as well. I know I'd have to build a bridge of some sort ... just wondering if it's possible without a degree in computer engineering? ;) :D

You might want to just buy a similar keyboard. It's not quite the same, but the MacAlly IceKey (IceKey Macally Peripherals (http://www.macally.com/EN/Product/ArticleShow.asp?ArticleID=147)) is similar. They also have the iKeySlim (IKEY5 Macally Peripherals (http://www.macally.com/EN/Product/ArticleShow.asp?ArticleID=144)) which looks good, but I haven't tried it myself.
