I got this headline by RSS feed:

Battle brewing over native school (http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/20080306/ndp_youtube_080306/20080306?hub=CTVNewsAt11)

The attached summary reads like this:
They go to school in portables in the sometimes minus 40 degree weather of northern Ontario, while an elementary school sits empty nearby, made inhabitable by an oil spill.

Dictionary app has this to say:

inhabit |inˈhabit|
verb ( -habited , -habiting ) [ trans. ]
(of a person, animal, or group) live in or occupy (a place or environment) : a bird that inhabits North America | urban centers inhabited by more than 10 million people | [as adj. ] ( inhabited) the loneliest inhabited place on Earth.
